One of the ways to achieve best result with lace wigs is to ensure proper preparation of your natural hair under the wig. If your hair is not properly prepared, the hair volume would increase unnecessarily, this will impede the realistic appearance of your lace hairpiece. There are different ways to prepare your hair under the wig. Any of the techniques would work just fine if you do it mindfully.
Perhaps you do not have hair (the case of baldness or excessive hair loss), then you wouldn’t need to prepare your hair under the lace front wig. For people with existing hair, prepare your hair by braiding it all back in cornrows style. Some people prefer to gel the hair-flat under the wig, you may also apply the flat beehive hair braid or wrap the entire hair backwards in a tight flat ponytail style. Wearing the breathable stocking cap is another hair preparation option that appeals to many women. Any way you choose to wear your hair under the wig is entirely your choice. Just ensure that the hair stays as flat as possible, for the best natural appearance.
Hair Preparation Before Taking Head Measurements
The same techniques employed above would apply here. You are expected to prepare your hair the same way it would be when applying the wig. So, if you love to wear a stocking cap under the wig, this would be the state of your hair before taking the various head measurements. And, if you choose other techniques such as cornrow braid, gel application and others, just prepare your hair that way before measuring your head.
If everything goes fine with your natural hair preparation, your lace wig will look more natural than you can imagine. Seemingly little techniques here and there will help to accentuate the realistic appearance of lace front wigs.
