Line Standing and Good Posture

Have you ever been to the bank and had to stand in line, and noticed the saucy girl in front of you standing with one hand on her hips at a tilted angle? If you visit this clinic then you will know that this girl is setting herself up for some serious back pain. You see, it is important to maintain good posture at all times, even when standing in line while running errands. When you lock your knees (which I struggle to keep from doing every day of my life) you release all your core muscles from doing any work, placing all the pressure to keep you balanced on the muscles in your back. When you do this, you push your spine toward collapse. Moral of the story? Stand up straight and do not lock your knees.
